These prints are influenced by a trip to Red Lodge, Montana where I met a man who hunts deer with a bow and arrow. While perched in the branches of a tree, he honors the deer with the patient process of waiting in silence for the animal.

It was powerful to envision this intense, still moment in combination with the extreme velocity of an arrow in motion. These portraits are about the meeting of man and animal in the spaces before and after the hunt. It is an ongoing series and in the future will also include gatherers.
